Welcome to Sulawesi Hike. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website, tour services, hiking and trekking activities, guiding services, and related outdoor adventure experiences. By accessing our website, making an inquiry, booking a trip, or participating in one of our activities, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

Please read them carefully before making a booking.

1. About Sulawesi Hike

Sulawesi Hike provides hiking, trekking, mountain guiding, camping, and outdoor adventure services in South Sulawesi and other selected destinations in Indonesia.

Our activities may include guided hikes and treks to destinations such as Mount Bawakaraeng, Mount Lompobattang, Mount Bulusaraung, Mount Latimojong, Lembah Lohe, Lembah Ramma, Bulubaria, Bulubialo, Bulusaukang, Kappire, and other mountain and nature destinations.

The availability, route, difficulty, duration, and conditions of each activity may vary depending on weather, trail conditions, local regulations, safety considerations, and other circumstances beyond our control.

2. Booking and Confirmation

A booking is considered confirmed only after Sulawesi Hike has received the required booking information and, where applicable, the agreed deposit or full payment.

Customers may be required to provide accurate information including their full name, nationality, contact details, number of participants, preferred travel dates, and relevant information necessary for trip planning.

We reserve the right to request additional information when necessary to organize a safe and appropriate hiking or trekking experience.

By making a booking, you confirm that all information provided to us is accurate and complete.

3. Payment

Payment terms may vary depending on the selected tour or hiking package. The applicable payment amount, deposit, balance, and payment deadline will be communicated before confirmation.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the remaining balance must be paid according to the payment schedule provided by Sulawesi Hike.

Failure to make payment within the agreed period may result in cancellation of the booking and the loss of any applicable deposit.

Any bank charges, transfer fees, currency conversion costs, or payment processing fees may be the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stated.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Customers may cancel their booking by contacting Sulawesi Hike as soon as possible.

Cancellation and refund conditions depend on the specific tour, booking arrangement, advance payments, permits, transportation, accommodation, guides, and other services that have already been arranged.

Certain payments may be non-refundable if they have already been committed to third-party providers or used to prepare the trip.

If Sulawesi Hike cancels a trip because of serious safety concerns, extreme weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, trail closures, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we will communicate available options to customers.

Any refund, rescheduling, or alternative arrangement will depend on the circumstances and the amounts recoverable from suppliers and local service providers.

5. Changes to Itinerary

Hiking and trekking are outdoor activities and conditions can change unexpectedly.

Sulawesi Hike reserves the right to modify, shorten, postpone, reroute, or cancel part of an itinerary when necessary for safety or operational reasons.

Possible factors include heavy rain, storms, landslides, flooding, volcanic activity, trail closures, forest conditions, local regulations, accidents, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances.

We will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative route or arrangement when possible.

Safety will always take priority over completing the original itinerary.

6. Hiking and Outdoor Risks

Hiking, trekking, camping, mountain climbing, and other outdoor activities involve inherent risks.

These may include, but are not limited to, slippery trails, steep terrain, falling rocks, extreme weather, river crossings, insects, wildlife, altitude-related problems, dehydration, fatigue, injuries, accidents, and other natural or environmental hazards.

Participants must understand and voluntarily accept these risks.

Our guides will provide reasonable instructions and safety guidance, but no outdoor activity can be guaranteed to be completely free from risk.

Participants are responsible for following the instructions of the guide and acting responsibly throughout the trip.

7. Health and Fitness

Participants should have an appropriate level of physical fitness for the selected activity.

Before joining a hiking or trekking trip, customers should inform Sulawesi Hike about any medical condition, physical limitation, allergy, medication requirement, or other circumstance that could affect their participation.

Participants are responsible for determining whether they are physically and medically suitable for the activity.

Sulawesi Hike may refuse participation or require a participant to stop an activity if our guide reasonably believes that continuing would create a significant safety risk.

8. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that every participant obtain suitable travel and adventure insurance before joining a hiking or trekking activity.

Insurance should, where appropriate, cover hiking, trekking, mountain activities, emergency medical treatment, evacuation, trip cancellation, personal belongings, and other relevant risks.

Sulawesi Hike is not responsible for expenses that are covered or should reasonably have been covered by the participant's insurance policy.

Participants should carefully check the terms and exclusions of their insurance before travelling.

9. Responsibilities of Participants

Participants are expected to:

  • Follow the instructions of Sulawesi Hike guides and staff.
  • Respect local communities, customs, traditions, and regulations.
  • Stay with the group or follow the agreed route.
  • Use appropriate clothing, footwear, equipment, and personal protection.
  • Avoid dangerous or reckless behavior.
  • Keep personal belongings secure.
  • Avoid damaging the natural environment.
  • Take all personal waste with them where appropriate.
  • Inform the guide immediately about injuries, illness, fatigue, or safety concerns.

Participants may be removed from an activity if their behavior creates a serious risk to themselves, the guide, other participants, local communities, or the environment.

No refund may be provided when a participant voluntarily leaves a trip or is removed because of unsafe or inappropriate behavior.

10. Equipment

Depending on the selected package, certain equipment may be provided by Sulawesi Hike.

Customers are responsible for taking reasonable care of any equipment provided to them.

Customers may be required to compensate Sulawesi Hike for equipment that is lost, intentionally damaged, or damaged through unreasonable use.

Participants should confirm before departure which equipment is included and which personal equipment they are required to bring.

11. Photography and Media

During our trips, photographs or videos may be taken for documentation, promotional materials, social media, or website content.

Where appropriate, Sulawesi Hike may use images showing participants for promotional purposes.

Participants who do not wish to appear in promotional photography should inform our team before or during the trip.

12. Environmental Responsibility

Sulawesi Hike is committed to responsible tourism and encourages all participants to protect the natural environment.

Participants must not litter, damage vegetation, disturb wildlife, vandalize natural or cultural sites, or remove protected natural objects.

We encourage visitors to follow the principles of responsible hiking and leave natural areas as they found them.

13. Third-Party Services

Some trips may involve services provided by third parties, including transportation providers, accommodation operators, local communities, porters, restaurants, or other suppliers.

While Sulawesi Hike will make reasonable efforts to work with reliable providers, we cannot be responsible for circumstances caused directly by independent third parties beyond our reasonable control.

This may include severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, road closures, accidents, illness, trail closures, transportation delays, or other unforeseen events.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
